Malaga Guide

Malaga is the capital city and the gateway to the Costa del Sol, and is a great place as a base for excursions to other places such as Sevilla or Cordoba or even Granada.

Malaga international airport is Spain’s third largest airport and is the main arrivals path for people arriving on the Costa del Sol. The airport is around 8km from the city of Malaga and over 6 million tourist’s flock to this wonderful city each year.


Malaga offers you both the features of a modern metropolis and the relaxed atmosphere of a beach side town. The locals are very friendly and laid back and are known as Malaguenos.

Malaga has a great variety of pubs, tapas bars and restaurants for you to try with fresh seafood a local speciality.
Malaga also offers some great cultural delights with over 20 museums ranging from contemporary art which includes Pablo Picasso birthplace museum to over historical artefact museums.

The city offers many modern shopping centres with top fashion names as well as more traditional Spanish shops. These centres also include multiplex cinemas and bowling allies and many restaurants and bars.


There is also a wide variety of nightlife which caters for all tastes from people who just prefer a quite stroll along the cost with scenic views and a quite drink, to others who want to go to the many nightclubs and bars in the city. The clubs don’t usually kick off till around midnight but will then go on until the early hours of the following morning. There are plenty of venues which should satisfy all tastes from techno clubs to Hip Hop and dance clubs and jazz and reggae bars. What ever you are looking for you should have a great night out in Malaga.
